The RapidMap project started in April 2013 and will last for 2 years. The main objectives of the RapidMap project are to construct practical ways to (automatically) gather and extract useful information to figure out the damages of a hazard or disaster in near real time by utilizing Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Science technologies.

RapidMap is a CONCERT-Japan project, i.e. a European Union (EU) funded project in the International Cooperation Activities under the Capacities Programme of the EU 7th Framework Programme for Research and Technology Development (FP7).
